Two Iraqi women track down the elusive Swiss-Iraqi musician Nadjma, 35 years after her disappearance from the limelight. Faced with memory gaps, an archive in decay and a false backstory, they attempt to rewrite her story, blurring truth and fiction and eventually weaving an intimate portrait of an Iraqi migrant woman striving to live on her own terms in post-punk Europe.
