Baptism is a feature-length narrative film about Ellen, a mixed-race transwoman who gets reconnected with Rebecca, a working-class Caucasian woman who had her given up for adoption as an infant son. Withholding aspects of their past, the two mothers ultimately realize that their frayed bond goes deeper than biological.
